The contribution of volunteers has been fundamental to the success
of Age Concern Manchester since it became an independent local charity
in 1976. It is the contribution of volunteers that gives to the
charity its unique character. Volunteers work throughout the organisation;
its Trustees are volunteers, the shops and care centres depend on
volunteers, the counselling team and the Ageing Well team of Senior
Health Mentors are all volunteers.
